Dawson County, GA - Save the date for the “Southern Nights” dinner and dance to be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Dawsonville Municipal Complex in celebration of the City of Dawsonville’s 150th birthday with all proceeds to benefit the Dawson County Senior Center elevator fund. Bringing an outdoor party inside, the evening’s festivities will include great food from local restaurants and dancing to the southern rock and country melodies of the Country River Band. Taste “Delish Dishes of Dawsonville,” a sampling of food provided by wonderful local restaurants and judge who makes the best appetizer, main dish, dessert and beverage. Join the excitement of both the live and silent auctions featuring premium winnings including an Atlanta Motor Speedway Labor Day weekend package, gas grill, spa package, weekend getaway, hunting package, digital camera and much more. Also, don’t miss three raffle opportunities – one spotlighting a Dell laptop. Funds raised at the event are dedicated to assist with the installation of a much-needed elevator at the two-story Dawson County Senior Center. Many of the center’s activities take place on the lower level making it difficult for clients to take part unless staff members personally walk them around the outside of the building or in some cases drive them when walking is prevented. This is the third of several fundraisers targeted to raise funds for the costly elevator. Event admission is $15.00 per person or $25.00 for two.
